As I sit here reminiscing about that pivotal moment in my life almost seven years ago, I can’t help but share this valuable lesson with all of you who might be contemplating a leap into a new chapter. Trust me, if what’s holding you back is that you are waiting for the fear to go away, you’ll be waiting forever.

I still remember the day I made the decision to resign from my corporate job. It was October 10th, 2016, precisely at 3 pm (yes, I remember it like it was yesterday). I walked into a meeting, and my boss immediately noticed something was up just by looking at my face.

He simply said, “OMG, you’re leaving.”

With a mix of anxiety and excitement, I managed to say “YES.” Then the fear hit me like a ton of bricks, and I had a visceral reaction to either vomit or faint (not a pretty sight, I must admit). My heart was pounding, my head was spinning and foggy. I had a full-blown anxiety attack when I heard his next words…

“I’m so happy for you!”

And in that instant, everything went quiet. I felt a calmness settle within me. We sat down and had a conversation. What followed was far from the monster of the impending financial suicide that I had imagined in my mind.

In fact, I continued to work for the company remotely for five more months (this was in 2016, a time when nobody was allowed to work remotely from home), while retaining my full-time employee status, receiving all my benefits and salary, living in my apartment in Mexico, the place that my heart and soul have always called home. This setup allowed me to build my client base and start paving the way for my new journey.

You see, on the other side of fear lies freedom, but we’ll never know it until we take that courageous step forward. It’s all part of our growth.

If you find yourself at a crossroads right now, I’d love to offer you a helpful and free tool. I’ve created a resource that outlines the exact steps I took to reinvent myself and embark on a new chapter: starting my own business and moving to a new country.

It is possible. If I can do it, you can do it, too.

If something is calling you persistently then it’s time to embrace the unknown.

It is my hope that this resource will support you on your journey.
